If kidneys do not function adequately or fail, fluid and toxins build up in the body; this can happen quickly or slowly over time. When kidney function is inadequate, they may need help to remove the extra fluid and toxins. This is done through what is called renal replacement therapy or dialysis.

At Children’s Renal Center, we offer acute peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis services through Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. For children requiring chronic dialysis, we offer peritoneal dialysis at Home Kidney Care, a dialysis center located off Preston Rd and Interstate 635 Service Rd.

We are currently working with Medical City Children’s Hospital to open a chronic hemodialysis program.
