Celina D. Cepeda, MD is a pediatric nephrologist.  She provides outpatient care at Children’s Renal Center and inpatient services and consultations at Medical City Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Cepeda received a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.  While at UIW, she applied and was accepted into the Early Medical School Selection Program at Boston University School of Medicine.  After graduating magna cum laude from UIW, she transitioned to BUSM, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree.  She completed a residency in pediatrics at Charleston Area Medical Center Women and Children’s Hospital affiliated with West Virginia University, Charleston.

During residency, she discovered her passion for the intricate workings of the kidney and continued her education with a pediatric nephrology fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital affiliated with University of California, San Diego. She joined Children’s Renal Center in November 2016.

In her spare time, Dr. Cepeda enjoys visiting her family in Brownsville and spending time with her dog, Mocha.  She also likes weight training, watching live bands, and traveling.

Pediatric Nephrologist

Albert H. Quan

Albert H. Quan, MD is a pediatric nephrologist. He provides outpatient care at Children’s Renal Center and inpatient services and consultations at Medical City Children’s Hospital. He has been practicing pediatric nephrology for over 20 years.

Dr. Quan received his medical degree from from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. After graduation, he completed an internship at the University of Colorado and completed his residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric nephrology at University of California, San Francisco.

He first became interested in pediatric kidney disease when he learned how a child with severe kidney dysfunction could have their life restored with a kidney transplant.

In his spare time, Dr. Quan enjoys gardening and photography.
